Impact
At Bolton-by-Bowland, all of our children develop a deep understanding and passion for the world we live in.
We are confident, curious and enthusiastic geographers who can recall previous learning and use it to support our future learning. We are able to use key geographical vocabulary appropriately and across a range of wider curriculum subjects.
At Bolton-by-Bowland, we use a range of formative and summative assessments to assess the impact of our unique curriculum and determine the progress and attainment of the children in our care.
Examples of this are:
- KWL grids at the start of each unit of work
- Recap, Rewind and Remind (three questions at the beginning of each unit. One from last week, one from last term, one from last year)
- An end of unit quiz to assess the key knowledge and skills they have been taught
- A double page spread in our book of Knowledge
- Verbal and written feedback
- Moderation of work through book looks
- Pupil Voice
- Reports to parents
