Intent

At Bolton by Bowland we believe that all children have the right to an excellent and rigorous art education.

Our intent is to inspire the children by selecting interesting ways to teach a particular art skill and including a diverse range of artists. We believe that high-quality Art and Design lessons will equip children with the skills to build their resilience and perseverance to be creative independent thinkers. It will stimulate reflection, challenge and innovation both inside and outside the classroom. 

Our Art and Design curriculum has been designed with the intention to give pupils every opportunity to develop their ability, nurture their talent and interests, express their ideas and thoughts about the world, as well as learning about the rich heritage and culture of the British Isles and beyond.
