Planting Poppies

|

The children planted poppies in the wildflower garden recently. The seeds were kindly donated by the Mayor of Clitheroe as part of the centenary to mark the First World War. The children planted them on the 70th anniversary of the D day landings.  The children said a prayer for the many lives which were lost and heard about the impact of war. The seeds will symbolise the meaning and signifance that war played in shaping the country we live in today.

Year 6 children took part in the Big Green Safe Challenge Event recently at Burnley Football Club.  They looked at such things as road safety and enviromental issues and were lucky to come third in a competition.
